Last few days of break my dad and I watched this movie called Schindler’s List, some of you may have heard of this movie before. It’s about this womanizer who saved thousands of lives in the Holocaust.
The movie is really disturbing to be honest. I’m so disturbed at the fact that people are so inhumane. There’s this one scene of a man without one of his arm being shot right on the forehead. The Nazi was like “you have only one arm, you can’t work”. The disabled man was hired in Schindler’s factory, it was just so sad because the day before he was thanking Schindler for saving his life.
The holocaust is real. No one expected this would happen. People lived through this, watching family and friends get shot right in front of your own eyes, and being stripped off all your rights and citizenship. How would that feel? I’d never know, and I really don’t want to either.
Today there was a holocaust survive who came in to speak to us. Her parents were murdered and she survived through Auschwitz, the most brutal concentration camp in the Holocaust. She told us about how they were given soap dish water + pebbles for soup and they had to drink it anyway if you were to survive. People there were treated like subhumans.
I can’t even tell you how much I feel for these people including the Chinese who were also killed by the Japanese at that time. They’re being mass murdered for only one reason, hate. And some of the survivors still manage to say I forgive them, I just hope they forgive themselves.
They also kill innocent children and babies without any hesitation, for pete’s sake. What is this? How the hell did this happen to our world?
I really can’t get this out of my mind, it’s going to stay with me forever. This hate has led to millions of innocent lives taken away in vain.
Let’s just hope nothing like this ever happens again. This is our call.
